| MINI2 Regular | i only use motorised to apply polish and i buff and wax by hand. You cants get into the small gaps with a motorised polisher. ALSO - go easy on vinyl stripes and graphics with a motorised machine!! friction melts plastic if your not careful ![]() Viper Stripes| DPSM | Recaros | Miltek | Aero | GP Intercooler | JCW R56 Brakes | Alpina Dynamics |

Offline | I've looked on Detailing World a few times and the names that get mentioned time and time again are Poorboy's, Collinite, and Chemical Guys. I think it's fair to say that these are the choice of the serious detailer. I use a lot of Autoglym products. They're not the best on the market, I'm sure, but they give great results. I'm starting to try some other products as the Autoglym runs out. Today, I did a 9 hour detail (!) and used the following products: Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner Autoglym Motorcycle Cleaner (good for wheels and bugs on paintwork as it's water-based) Meguiars Quik Clay (Detailing World led me to believe that this is a good first clay) Autoglum Super Resin Polish Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection Autoglym Bumper Care (for plastic arches) Autoglym Metal Polish (for JCW exhaust) Autoglym Fast Glass Autoglym Leather Cleaner Autoglym Leather Cream Poorboy's Wheel Sealant I think if you have some decent products, do all the necessary steps, and take time, you're going to get good results. ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Did an 8 hour detail on sunday gone... Now I already had some turtle wax products ( i know i know) left over so thought I may as well get rid of it first... cleaned engine bay thoroughly as it had never been cleaned before (shocking i know!) - this took me two hours...and finished it off with AG Vinyl and Rubber care which gave a nice black finish to the plastics in the engine bay. then cleaned inside just using hoover and basic duster (inside is cleaned regularly so didnt need much attention) outside: washed using turtle zip wax and zymol mixed together - using two bucket method - was surprised how much grit and dirt came off into the clean water!) clay barred using megs smooth surface clay kit (took some extra dirt off, especialy around the wheels/drivers door etc) washed again and sprayed with turtle wax 'wet n wax', and then dried using a synthetic chamois; ran my hands across the paintwork to feel the marvel of the clay bar - car is smooth as glass...sexy! used free sample of megs cleaner wax on the car (came with the clay bar kit), and buffed off...left a nice deep shine on the car; then finished off the body with turtle wax high gloss shine (like a protective oil) over the wax to seal it in... then washed wheel just using normal car wash shampoo and halfords wheel cleaner spray to loosen dirt...rinsed and dried wheels and dressed with 'wet n black' from halfords... then dressed trim/bumpers with AG vinyl and rubber care (used for engine part earlier) - came out nice n black... gave the windows a once over with halfords basic car window cleaner - which actually works quite well and provides a barrier against rain etc...quite pleased with this product. et voila - one shiny car!! I'll post pictures when I get home today - but overall very happy with the results. TURTLE WAX and HALFORDS products are being used and run down before I can start using some of the products that I bought i.e Sonus/Megs/Poorboys etc - otherwise its money down the drain - but I'm sure you'll agree that with a bit of elbow grease, and fine shine is achievable using any products!! I'm getting there!! |
