Question removing smoke stains from headliner

So I ocassionally smoke cigars in the MC and have developed slight smoke stain spots in the headliner right above the driver side head ... they are little small brownish spots ...

Any idea of an effective way to remove them? particular cleaner, etc? ... it's the light gray headliner on an 03 (pre-anthracite availability)

smoking in the MINI! Shame on you

Don't know about smoke stains but I have found that dash board wipes seem very effective at cleaning anything out of the cream roof lining. Something like the tear off sheets that come in the plastic pot made by tutlewax or people like that?

Just a suggestion but it seems to work on mine and has not ever caused a stain or issue.

I have a steam cleaner with a hose attachment. seems to work on almost everything. But then you have one really clean spot and the rest of the roof looks horrid by comparison

Moreover you may want to look at only smoking with the windows open.
