Black MINI, yes or no?

right could i have honest opinions on a black MINI, with regards to keeping it clean and tidy

i know if i do get one il have to get a porter cable random orbital polish to keep the swirls off it

but it just looks soooo nice with the red interior

opinions please

thanks

Mark

My mini is black with a red interior, I use it on the motorway a lot so its usually black with brown spots although a qucik jet wash and a wipe down makes it look nice

It looks amazing when completely clean and waxed. Its up to you if you feel like cleaning it to keep it clean or if youdon't mind it looking dusty and dirty. I loved my Solid Black MINI. It looked amazing but I kept the paintwork like glass and cleaned it most weeks the longest it went without a wash was a month. I say that pepper white is harder to keep clean as it shows up all the tar, sap and dirt more than a black does.

Get it Black is the best colour - my new Park Lane colour shows up no real dirt its brill. I still clean it fortnightly though!

ok, you only get swirls if you dont use the right tools initially. if there are no swirls, you wont make any unless you dont use the proper equipment.

i have an all black MINI, and it turns out like this every time I clean it.

I am on my second black MINI. They do take a bit of looking after (and mine is looking a bit grubby right now) but it is just such a cool colour...

Like Washy I am on my second black MINI, no other colour looks half as good

The laws of physics dictate that black attracts no more dirt and is no harder to clean than any other colour

nothing looks as good as a freshly detailed black MINI

well, apart from Jakki Degg with nothing on, of course.

Solid Black was a pain for swirls, Astro/Cosmic black or whatever it's called isn't as bad. Don't be put off as all MINI's tend to attract dirt, especially on the rears...

the R56's dont attract as much as the older MINI's, but it's still not much of a difference.

I've taken a few pics of my mini which is dirty so if you would like to see my muck-mobile I will chuck some pics up for you.

My mini generally gets a dirtier bum than a front end

I'm another vote for the black/white MINI with red interior... hard to keep clean but ya just can't beat it!

Well I'm on my 3rd Black MINI and my Mom is on her 2nd!!

Black looks amazing when clean and when I clean mine I use micro-fibre cloths instead of a leather and find that I get no marks when cleaning it - as opposed to leathers and you can see where they've been up and down the side of the door!!!!

And if I was to order my 4th MINI tomorrow - it would be another black one!!

I Have Astro Black, When it is cleaned even just quickly washed n leathered it looks fantastic. Of course Black cars get dirty, All cars do really, it just means that you'll give it even more love than normal. Personally I get more annoyed with brake dust on my bullet alloys than anything else!!

Go for it - YOU KNOW YOU WANNA

Yeh I get annoyed with the brake dust on my wheels too! GRRR!
My car needs a good clean atm... it hasn't been done in a while... but every time that I wash it, it rains... which is good as we have a drought where I am atm... need all the water we can get!

If the world didn't suck we'd all fall off!

Black MINI for 5 years here.
Still the best colour I've seen (and they're all nice).

Not one negative comment about Black MINIs yet! Oh dear, here goes...

I borrowed an Astro Black Cooper for an extended test drive. What put me off were:
1) How it shows the dirt/dust
2) How the plastic wheel arch trims are lighter than the body. It just didn't look right.

Apologies to everyone in advance!
