Hi All

Just about to pick up a M C Conv on a 04 plate with 37K, it has the TLC but being a Mini "newbie" im unsure what the Car Dealer should hand me within the TLC pack when I collect the car later this week :-0) as far as i can see it was last serviced at 26K so it must be due another service by BMW some time soon..? Should I expect a voucher ??? Any help would be much appreciated

All i got was a little booklet with a page for each service that they stamp.

i was expecting something a bit more exciting.

i would check with the dealer when you collect cos it sounds as though it might be due another service.

To answer your original question all you physically get in your hand is a book of vouchers.

Better check the service record. The TLC pack is for a fixed number of services and is not infact 5yrs/50k.

As part of TLC you get:

10k 1st oil service (Should have been done)
25k Inspection 1 (Should have been done)
35k 2nd oil service (May have been done, check the service indicator on the car)
Brake fluid change at 2 years old. (Should have been done)
(bear in mind the above mileages will vary car-to-car)

If your car has 37k on the clock there is a chance the TLC has all been used up. The mileages above will vary and the car will tell you when it needs a service. Check the service record as mentioned above. To check when the next service is needed turn the ignition on and the mileage to next service is displayed for a few seconds before it reverts to the actual mileage.

You get a voucher book for the services, but these are hardly ever used as the service record is computerised.

With the standard TLC pack you get:

1st Oil Service circa 10k miles
Inspection 1 circa 25k miles
2nd Oil Service circa 35k miles
+ Brake fluid change at 2 years old

When you start the car up, the mileage to the next service is displayed in the speedo LCD display.

If the TLC has run out on your car perhaps you can get a price reduction and put it towards the TLC XL pack which gets you something like below for about £300

circa 50k Inspection 2 service
circa 65k Oil Service
Brake Fluid Change at 4 years old

Yup thats right.... I bought TLC XL in July, it was £300.

Inspection 2 is the big service really for MINIs as believe it or not it's the first time your airbox lid will even be removed to change the air filter (unless the previous owner did it or had it done), also the spark plugs are changed.
