Headlamp Converters

If I head off on a MINI adventure to France do I have to buy new headlamps or are converters available?

Headlamp Converters

You will have to go back to your dealer who will be able to set the beam to the right electronically.

So I believe anyway - ask your dealer.

The manual suggests that you can get a masking tape kit from your dealer to adjust the beams.

(Not available from my dealer back in December when I took MINI to Cologne, so I relied on the standard trick of covering the deflecting parts of the lens with insulating tape.)

I heard it from the headlamp manufacturer that there is a masking kit available from BMW dealerships.

The sort of stickies availabe from Halfords and the ferry ports are not suitable.

Early rumours of an electronic switch conversion (put about by me) were wrong - apparently that's the new MGF's trick, not the MINI's.

Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though.

Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed
