Chilli Pack Leather Seat - Help!

Hi

New to forum - so hello out there.

I have a 51 plate Cooper with Chilli Pack.

Sailing down the road last week and my fiance suddenly found herself almost in the back seat as the mechanism broke, shes a size 12 before I get any jibes!

The seat now moves freely back and forward on the rail and wont lock and the main back of the chair wont stay in any one place either - like the handle is permanantly in a position for letting folk in and out of the back.

Cant seem to get into the inner workings of the seat to see what the problem is, Jo is enjoying the assumed royal status of travelling everwhere in the back - but it cant go on!!

Has anyone got any tips to fix the seat?
How much are they to replace (I am sitting down)?
Any second hand availability?

Welcome to M2.

What you have there is a common fault on early MINI's. Have done a search (titles only) for seat mechanism. Hopefully you can see the results in the link below.

Can't answer you auestions myself though, sorry.

Thanks for the search, there is a couple of suggested solutions prior to replacement.

I'll give them a go and post the results.
