What colour is the car and can you post a pic of the scratch?

TBH Megs Scratch X is not that good of a polish either to be taking scratches out of MINI's rock solid paint.

Need something a little better, something that you wont get at halfrauds.

Unfortuantely if its that deep then i doubt you will be able to get it out by hand, that requires a pro's hand with a a bit of wet n dry sand paper and a machine polisher, or a respray at worst.

If the scratch has gone down to the primer then it will need paint. Pro detailers will lay paint in the scratch, leave to dry, wetsand flat and machine polish the wet sanding marks out.

If its not deep then the scratch can be polished out, however, you won't have much luck by hand. As said above the Mini's paint is hard as nails. Even my Dual Action polisher struggles (Porter Cable) and i have to crack out the Makita rotary!

Stone chips are what they say on the tin. Chips into the paint work exposing the primer/metal underneath. These WILL need paint and can be done individually by the method described above

I do use Meguires Scratch X, and it's makes things better, not perfect though. It doesn't sort out scratches in the laquer coat, least not for me.

if you can feel the scratch with a fingernail forget it!!

get yourself some touchup stick (the real mccoy preferably) skake well (this is important) then get yourself a number 1 and number 000 artist paintbrush.

clay the area, then using your paintbrush PATIENTLY add a layer. leave to dry for 24 hours then add another layer to build them up! (may need more than 2 layers depending on scratch/chip) remember, take your time for a better finish! then when you have just built up enough layers so that it sticks out JUST over the paintwork THEN use scratchX or a decent polish to rub down to correct level.

if you have used too much use a jcloth with thinners to remove excess paint touch up!

just remember. BE PATIENT!!!

this has always worked for me!
