percycat - they are all good at making the tyres look black, but the effect doesn't always last that long. Usually after a couple of washes its gone. Everyone has their own favourite, so have a look on here for more info...

A world for detailers...

you'll find it's more for show than anything. not worth doing if you're driving the car around much.

The good stuff prevents the tyre going brown with old age and wear and tear.... but mainly for looks, i think this finishes the car of nicely, if not done then i think it spoils the look and a waste of time doing the rest of the car!

I got to agree I black/silicone/gloss finish mine everytime I was the car. I once had none left and resorted to using simoniz back to black bumper spray shine on them and it looked awesome...never seemed to cause an issue either.

My only advise is avoid the "foaming" type tyre shines...they are pap IMO. Makes a mes and doesn't shine as well as many others.

I always do wheels first too, obviously saving the tyre dressing till the end, Like the other have already said , It only looks finished when you've dressed the tyres too, The first time you do it you'll be looking at the car on and off for the next 4 hours!! I still do now EVERY time
