Service advice/recomendation?

Hi,

My Cooper has been in for an oil service today (113 quid) and they have just called to say it also needs coolant/brake fluid changing as well (120 quid).

I cant afford both so have gone for the oil change.

Can anyone recommend a place to get the coolant/brake fluid change done? Ive heard some horror stories about kwik fit so a bit nervous about using them!

Im based in the west midlands if anyone knows a good local garage.

Thanks

Any good independant garage will be able to change brakefluid or coolant

There are lots of MINI specialists around too... MiniMania in Ampthill near Milton Keynes, 1320 Autos, to name but two... check out the sponsor directory here for contact details http://www.mini2.com/sponsors/

Do it yourself. Coolant and brake fluid change is not hard. Invest in a haynes manual £14 and a self bleed kit £8 and get down and dirty. other place is maybe Lohen.co.uk?

Good luck.

So true... even better is to pop down the pub and find a mechanic who'll do it for a few beers - saves getting your hands dirty.

I went one step further and moved to a house within 5 mins of both a MINI auto electrician and an BMW MINI tech LOL

Good luck.

Ive got a Haynes is it really as easy as it sounds?

Ive done a few minor maintenance issues but this seems a bit daunting - am I liable to screw my car up!?
