| I would replace it with a late model gearbox from a breakers, and save a lot of money!! It is unusual for a gearbox on the S to fail,so establish exactly what caused the failure,so as not to repeat the exercise !! |

| How much????? Oh wait... its it an CVT Automatic?? otherwise the scrap yard or recon gearbox company and I wouldnt expect much more than a 1/3 of that price. Then find a half decent garage to fit for maybe £300 or so cash in palms. I've only ever had to replace the gearbox on one car before and that was a recon unit I sourced for 1/4 the retail price and fitted for only £150. Like above, investigate the cause and exactly what is wrong with the box first as sometimes there is a cheaper fix than just a whole new box. |
