CVT Gearbox

Hi

Please could somebody advise me whether the Gear Lever Location Sensor is part of the CVT gearbox. I had my gearbox replaced 6 months ago and now they have replaced the gear lever location sensor. Is the gear lever location sensor part of the actual gearbox or is it seperate?
