Bonnet strips

Just got my new Cooper S this week. I have bonnet strips on it and was wondering if when polishing/waxing it I should apply over the top of these or leave them?

I will be using Meguiars Gold Class products

My dealer told me the stripes are perfectly safe to wax/polish over. I've always done so with no probs

Mee too, it's the stone chips that destroy the stripes

I've waxed/polished over mine and haven't had any problems. How about putting the car through a carwash? Do the brushes damage/rip off the stripes from the bonnet?

DON'T PUT YOUR MINI THROUGH A CAR WASH.

It will be more than the strips that come out scratched...
