Sat Nav update

Hi,

First post, so bear with me...

Just bought an 03 'S' with sat nav. Looking at updating the disc that powers it - there are loads on e bay, some BMW that might work?? Does anybody have any idea what to look for when trying to get hold of an update eg mfr name, model number etc.

Is there anything to watch out for when updating???

Thanks v much.

I highly recommend that you avoid the Ebay disks as they are typically pirated and may or may not work. You can buy disks from BMW or Navteq.

The 03 probably is a MK3 which means that it only plays CD's, not DVD's. This will cut your cost considerably.

Welcome to the forum.

Yeah find out first if you have a CD or DVD system, the more up to date firmware software can be downloaded off the net.
