DIY Problem with headlights.......

Hi all,
I have a problem with my cooper s........
when I am driving at night with the lights, on every so often the lights appear to flash for no reason.
I have tried to monitor this I.e does it happen when I go over bumps or holes in the road, but no......
it happens when it wants and very randomly.
What I do know is that the lights do have an auto levering system on them.
I now think that for some reason this system is being activated randomly and is not the lights going on and off.
Anyone else had a similar problem????
What are your thoughts????
Cheers,
Andy.

Dont have this problem with my s but my daughters headlights point too high and will not adjust. BMW said they are within limits so why does everyone flash her all the time then? Sorry cant help you with your problem, looks like you are the only one!

I had a similar problem and was being flashed all the time.

Mine turned out to be a loose wire, well sort of.

Just below the steering wheel there is a switch to adjust the level.
With mine the connector on the back had fallen off as they were loose.
Crimped them a bit, reinstalled and all's been well since.

There is a switch to adjust Halogen Headlights as per above, but Xenon Headlight beam throw is regulated automatically.

Xenon headlight throw can be adjusted manually inside each headlamp, this should be done by either the Dealer or an MOT Station to comply with lighting regulations.
