Hey,

I got my first mini a few days ago and I've just been reading about the service level computer and having a look at some of the posts on here to understand how it works.

When I turn on the car and press the button for brake fluid the clock comes on, it says -121 and flashes - I take this to mean that the brake fluid should have been changes 121 days ago?

Looking in the service book there's a dealer stamp for brake fluid change from 18/10/07 (about, exactly 4 months ago or ~120 days!) so does this mean the fluid was changed but the mechanic forgot to re-set the indicator?

If so should I take this back to the garage to get it re-set, or will I have to leave it until next time now?

Apart from that I'm loving the car!

Hi Ian and welcome to MINI2

I think you're right.

You should take it back to a dealer (preferably the one that did the fluid change) and seek their advice. If they reset it now it will wait 2 years before reminding again but they might be able to set it to the required period - you can but ask.
