United-Kingdom Engine Coolant Resovir Problem????

Bought my 'Cherished' Cooper S 55 less than four weeks back.

Happy with my black Cooper - i returned to the same Deaership for a Cooper S.

Within 24 hours of picking her up - we found a random bolt under the bonnet - from where you might ask? Striaght back to the garage and we were told there was another three missing (MINI Cherised checks going strong - thanks mechanics).

Two weeks later we noticed a nice leak from under the bonnet - which we were told was the Engine Coolant Resovir - and it had developed a canny leak - a simple problem fixed - although they dont know when the parts will arrive - nice.

I have driven the car approx 8/9 times - and i'm not too impressed - ive spent more time in the courtesy car than than MINI i paid for.

Anyone else had Engine Coolant Resovir Problems?

Welcome to MINI2...

Do a search and you will see that this is not an uncommon issue. It shouldn't be that difficult for them to do once that acquire the part.

Cheers - its the third one in a week - as i was told by the service manager.

Its the annoyance of the fact that nothing was noticed when the car went through its Cherished Checks - or the extra check it had 24/48 hours later (after the bolt issue).

Getting a bit annoyed with the Dealership - poor on the service side - poor on the communication - poor on the sales - generally p*ss poor. And im really sick of the BMW Courtesy car - its like driving an oil tanker.

What were the bolts from? Ive had mine changed three times and the cap replaced twice. Since owning my car ive been in at least once a month to get something looked at, fixed or replaced...

Now Im out of warranty I have found a good local garage (not BMW) who I now go to for any problems and to keep the car healthy (ie extra oil changes and belt replacements) and just use BMW for TLC service.

I find that BMW dont tend to find problems but instead tend to need to be told exactly what is wrong, with video evidence provided, or they wont do anything. I had broken rocker arms a while ago which BMW (who had the car for almost a week to do cold starts) couldnt find an issue with - I have a video on youtube of the problem that they couldnt hear -
Sorry to hijack the thread.

Make sure you keep an eye on the coolant level and temp gauge is my advice. Hope you get to start enjoying your car soon as they are great when all is working fine...

Does BMW not offer a 30 day exchange warrenty?

Im sure they did with me?

That could be an option and go to another dealer, although i guess its not that easy.
