Blue Cooper Anyone tried MINI SPA?

I'm just nosying about on the Ministry of Ownership website and I saw the MINI SPA service:

"When your MINI gets a bit grubby after all your adventures, just bring it in!
We'll give it a full makeover inside and out – from shampoo to polish
Your best mate will look just like new"

Then let's you contact your dealer or book online.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this service, how much it costs and what work they do?

I'm constantly trying to get my mini looking like it did the day I picked it up but as the miles pile up I'm loosing that perfect image :-)

Thoughts..

Call me cynical, and not that I have any experience of such a service but I guess the cost of such would be huge, and for that you could book it into a reputable valeter who would do just as good a job

If not better!

My mum had her JCW done at BMW and the monkeys scratched all the paint and had to have it refurbed! never looked the same apparently (never saw it sold shortly after)!

IMO your better spending the money on megiuars stuff or alike and going to there website! they even have video tutorials on how best to use the products and i'm sure some of the detailing gods on here would answer any questions you have!

Link to video's:
meguiars.com: Car Care Video Guide

if i was to recommend a list of stuff to use in order:

Megs NXT tech shampoo using a megs micro fibre/ lambs wool mitt using 2 bucket method and then dry, then

Meguiars Smooth Surface clay Kit to quik clay the car to remove all bonded contaminents (and protection Explained lower down) to make it as smooth as glass, then

Megs Deep crystal polish buffed off using Meg yellow super plush cloths (try and do this twice to get a great result) then,

Megs Nxt tech or Gold Class wax to seal the paint and replace the protection removed in the claying section, again if this is done twice better results achieved but with wax you must leave about 12 hours in between to let it cure to the paint as wax doesn't build up with instant re-application! and that should do ya! smooth rich glossy paint!

after this you should then find that rain and road contanants won't bond with the paint as easily, and washing should be much easier and quicker! then once a month give it a good wash and a new clean coat of wax as it only really holds for about a month (depending on road conditions)

this is only a brief description there are loadsa people on here who can and will recommend other products and how best to use those products! hope this helps!

I'd use a proper valeter/detailer, the difference is that they're trade is cleaning cars and whereas at a dealers it's likely to be going in with all the other cars in for a service that need a valet. The time pressure is likely to be much tighter at the dealers. Also a valeter will normally come to you, so you don't need to take the car to the dealers. I can help point you in the direction of some people if you need.

I think (I may be wrong), but i think it's £80! pretty hefty!

I would rather just put in the hard work and do it myself!
