tyre pressures

daft question, so here goes

what do people use to check tyre pressures with?, it used to be easy but now all my local filling stations have gone to pre-set digital.....

so when you plug in it starts inflating before you can see where you started from

do i use an old fashioned pen style for 5 quid or should i go digital for 20 notes

any pointers

Digital but I did not pay £20 for it; more like £7 I think
