Offline | Assuming you have a first generation MINI: 1) Press and hold the trip button 2) Insert key and turn to position 1 3) Watch for RESET to appear 4) Release the button, then press & hold it again 5) Wait for the RESET to flash 6) Release the button, and then press and release (once only) Source: Mini Mania |

Offline | I serviced mine a while back. Im not sure if i did everything/ poss did too much lol I changed the brake pads, (disks being changed in two weeks) Oil and oil filter Spark plugs Air filter- i replaced it with a stock one then replaced it last week with a K&N brake fluid coolant brake lines checked and everything under the car greased. i cant remember if we did anything else. Then reset the service indicator. We didnt do anything with the power steering fluid as i heard this has to be done by the dealer?? mine was nowhere near Minimum anyway so we left it. ![]() |

Offline | Darthbladerni has a 1st Generation car (according to his profile). So he probably would have followed S33BY's instructions obtained from MiniMania as detailed above. * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |

Offline | With the ignition off, press and hold the trip reset button on the right side of the speedo. With all electrical items off, turn the ignition to position 1. After 5 seconds the words oil service/ inspection are shown with the word reset/re. Release the button. Immediately after releasing the button, press it again for another 5 seconds. After 5 seconds the word reset/re starts to flash. Release the button and then press and release it again. The new service interval is now displayed. Press and release it one more time and the words "end sia" are displayed, turn off the ignition. Good old haynes! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | What about your service history and warranty ![]() ? Did you not get the TLC - you can't maintain a car for £30 yourself! Take it to the dealer - minis with no service history don't exist, and the value of a car with no history is tiny! |

Offline | The dealers are just so expensive that you're never going to recoup the cost of the overpriced service in the value of the car upon resale. An Inspection II service with a BMW dealer costs £320... conveniently, this is the first service you have to pay for yourself when your TLC expires. * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |

| my other car is a smart.. | Dont forget to change the microfilter. Any garage stamp is better than non, but if you still wish to do your own then you could keep the BMW parts reciepts. But I must say if a service costs you £200 a year done by a good garage and a diy service comes in at £100 then looking at the numbers then after say 3 years will the car with garage service history be worth the £300 more? Yes indeed it will and it will sell. Lucky is a way of life (tm) 243.5 bhp & 205.3 ft lb |
