Brake Fluid Change overdue?

Just noticed that my brake fluid change indicator is flashing -451 !!! I didn't realise if you pressed the reset button whilst the next service indicator was showing it gave you this extra info.

I purchased my cooper cvt on the cherished scheme in May 2007 and it had its Inspection 1 service (covered by TLC) in July.

Should the dealer not have seen that it needed the brake fluid changed or is this something i was supposed to specifically asked them to dor?

Should they have performed this change before they sold the car to me?

Im guessing (hoping) they may just have forgotton to reset the indicator

Drew

Brake fluid should be changed every two years from build date.

Your fluid should have been changed Feb 2005 and Feb 2007, and is therefore indicating that the Feb 2007 change was either not done or the indicator not reset. It's 451 days over.

If you bought it in May 2007, it's back to the dealer.

How much do they usually charge for changing the fluid?

If you have TLC, the 1st one (at 2 years old) is free. Then approximately £100 I think.
