Cleaning Black Bonnet Stripes

Hi,
I've just swapped our 04 Chili Red Cooper with white bonnet stripes for a 08 Pure Silver Cooper with black stripes, the white ones were really easy to look after, wash/polish, but the black ones are proving to be a right pain I can't get the "smears" off them, does anyone have any suggestions?
I think the white ones weren't genuine MINI but fitted by dealer and the black ones are the genuine article.
Thanks in advance
David

Cleaning the black strips

I purchase this 2008 mini new and have just washed it for the first time. One of the Black stripes had what appeared to be drips from the windshield washer. I tried to polish it off but have only make the problem worse. I too am looking for a solution.

Sparky, that's what I've got as well, looks like a "run" of washer fluid, will try some of the vinyl spray. All the polishes have just left marks on them

Thanks so far

Methalated Sprit brings vinyl up a treat - apply to a cloth and wipe over. Removes all marks and self-evaporates to a streak free finish

Is it best to leave them alone after removing the stains, don't go near them with polish or wax??
