Wheel alignment / tracking

I had a nasty run in with an oversize kerb in my 2007 Mini One a couple of weeks, taking a chunk out of one my alloys. Since then the steering has been pulling to the left and overall felt a little wobbly!

I called my local dealer and explained the problem. I felt the resolution was simply that I had knocked the tracking out on the car. They mentioned that they don't do tracking and quoted me a whopping £250 for their alternative. Instead I went to my local car garage and got the wheel alignment readjusted for just £30.

The good news is the pulling and wobbling has stopped, but the steering feels noticeably stiffer than before. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Will the stiffness wear off? (I can feel a Viagra joke coming!)

I'd appreciate it if you could share your thoughts with me.

Also in terms of correcting the damaged Alloy, has anyone had a refurb on theirs? What were your experiences? Attached a picture showing the damage.

Thanks for your help. Sean.
