I wash my car with Zymol, then wax with a suitable shade of Colour Magic, then do a coating of Auto Glym High Gloss.

Other people use different products, whilst some use clay bars and orbital buffers. Have a scoot around the forums. I saw one thread yesterday were a chap had flayed and buffed his red Cooper and it looked proper smart.

Heres a few pics of my old Solid Black MINI One I have always used Meguiars shampoo, polish and tech wax on it with an autoglym wax on top of that. Always makes a deep wet look and looked gorgeous! My paint work was like glass, loved it! Got a few more pics at home I'll try and post them later.

Meguiars all the way. I have a black MINI Cooper and use the Shampoo and conditioner in one, clay bar, wax, speed detailer and the glass cleaner is excellent too. I don't use anything else.

Alot of people on here use either Maguiars or Autoglym. I use Autoglym mostley and use a few Maguiars products.

Here are photos of my detail on the Mini,
http://www.mini2.com/forum/photos-ph...-detailed.html

It depends on how hard you want to work and how much you wish to spend as to what products to buy.
I would definitely try claying it is pretty easy and you will be surprised at how much contamination is removed the paint will feel very smooth afterwards.
Products I would recommend,
Meguiars Step 1 Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or Autoglym Super Resin
Meguiars NXT 2.0 Wax has recently been released it is very easy to use and gives a great finish but durability is unknown just yet.
Also worth a look is Dodo Juice they make a great pre-wax cleanser and very good waxes.

Thats what mine needs and its an 06S. my JCW spoiler should be hear in the near couple of days and I want to get the roof buffed when the old S spolier gets removed!

Dodo Juice Supernatural should be good at the price, £95, with saying that I know someone whos has spent £000s on buffers, pads with polishes and waxes costing over £500.

I went out yesterday to buy a couple cleaning products and ended up coming home with a Meg G220 Dual Action Polisher and meg #83 Dual action polish and cleaner.

Typical weather today, raining haven't had a chance to use it yet on the Mini
