Cleaning white wheels

What is the best way of cleaning white wheels? I clean mine regularly but seem get blackish streaks (look like dirty water marks but not) that take a hell of effort to shift? what is this?

What can I do to help keep my wheels clean?

All Cooped Up

Keep on Motoring........

The best thing I have found after getting them clean (sorry but it is elbow grease and regular washing) is to polish or wax them. Then next time you go to wash and clean them the brake dust just falls off

Although the best, best way is to jack up the car, take wheels off car and hose them down.....but you need a Sunday morning to do it

1 year and 13000 miles on, I took T-Cut to mine this past weekend, then polished, and they look as good as new. I have a wheel-cleaning brush which helps *a lot* throughout winter, and use Auto-Glym wheel cleaner occasionally when things get bad during winter!

The only permanent scarring done to the wheels seems to have been in the first month or 2 when some brake dust got baked on and I didn't get a chance to clean it off for ages...
