hi guys as title really, gearbox has gone bang in an 02 mini cooper i have and wondering whether the gearbox from a 2006 mini will fit?

In a word. No.

So long as it's pre r56. It's not a direct fit, but it is possible, 1320autos are reputed to have done a few.
It needs a few extra bits such as flywheel, pressure plate and clutch, release bearing, starter, output shafts, slave cylinder, clutch line, transmission mount, shift cable tower and various other assorted hardware.
