She dropped the blade, picked it up and continued drying without wiping away a tiny tiny pebble that got picked up, and now my MINI has a giant scratch down the hood!! It's small, and you only really notice it when looking for it, but it's a 3 foot scratch none the less! Grrr, stupid sister!!

That sounds like a good enough reason not to use one. I'll stick to my synthetic chamois.

The same would happen if you dropped the chamois on some grit. Its ok so long as you keep it clean.

I feel you have much more control with a chamois...you are rinsing and wringing out more often, where as the water blade leads you to believe it is fine to just 'swipe' the water away,...with encumbent problems if you have grit trapped......moral is just use whatever you like, just keep checking it, and the car, is clean and free from grit / particulates.

I bought the CWB a month ago & it works great!

Have heard from "serious" detailers that you really have to keep it clean & make sure the edges do not get damaged.

I kept the packaging & use it for storage. Seems to work
good.

Life is short! Why drive a boring car?!

Got mine just before I got Linda, must say it really helps to cut down drying time, great on larger surfaces, door, bonnet, you know where there are no badges and stuff

But you will still need a chamis down for the little bits that this can't reach into

Oh drying time for the whole of Linda is about 3 mins

I've recently started using one (not sure which brand, picked it up at Halfrauds).

As stated above, it's great for speeding up the process, but you'll still need a chamois for finishing the fiddly bits. Definitely worth it (it was about £8 IIRC)

Milhouse: "We have to spread this stuff around - let's put it on the internet!"
Bart: "No, we have to reach people whose opinions actually matter."

i got one of these for my first car to shorten down drying time, as i hate using chamios. I was so scared it would scratch the paintwork, but im so happy with it after i tried it for the first time. Really does cut down on sunday car washing (especially when your hole familly is round and they want you to wash 4 other cars - 2 of which are huge volvos - ARRGHGHG!)

Hi,

Best thing for drying off the car is waffle weave microfibre, loads better than a chamois.
Take a look at www.pakshak.com, great guy to deal with an delivery from Hawaii to
the UK takes less than a week.

Count me in as a "California Squeegee" user (that's a popular brand name for them over here). I also concur that they have to be kept clean (as you would want to do anyways, just like with a chamois) and that they are great on the flats of our MINI. Your choice on the final drying touches..cham or microfibre, but it IS fast no matter how it's done now.
