Mini Cooper service advice for 2003 mini

Hi Guys the Mrs has a 2003 Mini copper with 78k on clock

Will be getting a local garage to give it a good service but would prefer to get the parts for them any advice on what i should get changed and what makes?

What i'm planning on changing:

Oil (what make and grade?)

Oil filter

An upgrade panel filter (advice on make and model)

Spark plugs (again advice please)

Anything else i should be looking at changing with the miles been slightly high?

Any advice really guys

the answer to your question Paul really depends on the service history of the car, ie what has been done and when ?

at 5 years old and 78K basic things like oil, filters and plugs should be done.

brake pads/discs should be checked and renewed if required...........tyres inspected, etc

sorry I cannot be more specific.

it also depends on how the car has been driven over the last 5 years !!

I changed the oil and filter on my 07 cooper and used Castrol Edge 0-30W synthetic oil ( Halfords ) and BMW filter. ( which I got from the dealer )

Have you thought about the ignition leads, not sure if it applies these days but in previous years when you changed the plugs it was a good idea to change the leads too.

Have you thought about a fuel filteR?

just follow the guide lines in the MINI service book..... other things to consider....

for example on a MINI Cooper S you also need to do...
Brake Fluid ( every 2 years ),
Coolant ( at least every 4 years )
