HI,

i have a 55plate MCS
24K miles, its now due for service, also the brake pad lights has come on.

i have the tlc pack, in the back it says all parts and labour are covered, so does this mean that it will not cost me for the brakes to be done?..

Yep, I think only things covered under TLC would be as per the servicing guide, which for that mileage would be oil, oil filter and air filter I think-They will also only replace the air filter if they think it needs doing...

the brake pads are not covered by TLC, only fluids and filters.

at 24K sounds as if you're a bit hard on the brakes ?

TLC 2nd service?

On a 2005 mini cooper conv I believe that the TLC service pack goes alittle like this:

1st service at 15000 miles - OIL Service

2nd service at 30000 miles - Inspection 1 Service

3rd service at 45000 miles - OIL Service and brake fluid change.

But BMW Mini specialist cars Luton did the 2nd service but they didnt stamp the book as it was forgotten so they gave me paper work. When I got home I had another look at the paper work to see it said OIL Service and the items were only for that service. So the dealer is now closed till monday the 4th Jan 09 but tomorrow I am going to confront them as to why the inspection 1 wasnt done.

What I need to know is the TLC is like I put it?

Cheers

The first Oil Service is usually around 10,000 miles and then service countdown intervals are 15,500 miles.

Brake fluid and coolant changes are done based on build date, to be done every 2 and 4 years respectively.

Cheers but maybe the US service might be alittle different.

Miniac's post is correct for UK MINIs R50 - R53

10000 miles and then every 15000 depending on driving style
Brake fluid every 2 years from Build date - count down in days
Coolant change every 4 years from build date

In Italy

I can confirm they dont change the air filter, ive just changed mine for a performance item at 38k on an 05 tlc pack car,the filter was absolutely hanging and way past needing changing i would strongly recommend its done at your own cost much earlier than they recommend
