Da Polisher And Meguiars

Hi,
My wife has just bought me a Kestrel DAS-6 polisher and Meguiars kit for my birthday, my question is simply,
At what speed setting should I use, there are six to choose from,
is it different speeds for cutting than for polishing, never used any detailer of any description so any help or advice on speeds would be grateful, as I don't want to go full gung ho and do any damage to the paintwork

The kit comprises of the following:-
Kestrel DAS-6 machine polisher
Meguiars W7206B 7" foam cutting pad
Meguiars W8006 6.5" foam polishing pad
Meguiars W9006 6.5"foam finishing pad
Meguiars 83 946ml cleaner polish
Meguiars 80 946ml speed glaze

thanks in advance Andy

This will answer all your questions. Machine Polishing by Dual Action Polisher - Full Guide - Detailing World

Quote:
Spread or dab polish around the panel with the machine switched off.
Spread the polish with one or two passes at slow speed (between 2 and 3).
Begin to work the polish in for three or four passes at medium speed (around 4).
Thoroughly work the polish until the residue goes clear at high speed (between 5 and 6).
Buff off residue and assess result.

You might find the power cable short, here is a guide on replacing it. All Kestral DA owners (power cable replacement) - Detailing World

Thanks Super Rob,
another fine forum for me to check out, was just thinking about the power cable replacement as it is rather short, nice to see other people are using this machine with great results, well here goes, this weekend is now giving way to my first detailing escapade.
thanks for your quick reply
