Wax

Hello All

Can anyone please recommend a good wax to use for the outside of a car? I currently use Autoglym but looking for something better to protect my Minis paintwork and which will last longer.

Additionally does anyone know if Supagard aftercare products can be used on cars not treated with the Supagard system. Many thanks.

Hi, I use collinate 915 Marque D'Elegance as its great at lasting for months at a time. Im unable to apply it very often throughout the year so its works well for me.

Although I use AutoGlym aqua wax, I've been told by many people that Dodo Juice waxes such as Rainforest Rub is the best choice. It's quite a bit more expensive that AutoGlym's stuff, so if you associate higher price with better quality and results, I'd suggest that!

I have used various products in my Mini and my previous car, like Meguiars, Swiswax, Zymol, Autoglym, Sonax and Zaino. I find the Zaino product range to be the best in terms of combining protection (it is a polymer and not a wax), shine, lasting results, ease of use and very reasonable price.

meguiars tech wax2 i use atm thats a polmer to more on the side to protect your paint but offers a good shine to, i find it requires bit more effort than autoglyms resin polish for its full potential but the plus side is you dont get white dust everywhere and its less messy on the black trim.
I normaly use megs deep crystal polish tho but thats more for shine rather than protection, its alot more difficult to use and marks the your black trim if you aint carefull.

Meguiars, black trim get it colour coded to the car, it's not expensive and the car looks so much better.

P21s is brand of product.

For me I can't look past the Dodo Juice range of products. The pricing is higher but the quality and durability is superb. I'm using Purple Haze on my Dark Silver R56 at the moment. Along with Born To Be Mild shampoo, Lime Prime cleanser/polish and Red Mist quick detailer.

Yesterday, my High Definition Autoglym wax arrived in the post. I was doing a bit of research on detailingworld.com, and by all accounts, this is best, and at least on a par with Dodo Juice. Autoglym are also a much larger company, so you'd imagine that when they set out to produce the world's finest wax, more investment would have to have gone into it than into a cottage industry such as Dodo Juice.

I can't wait to try my new wax at the weekend, weather permitting of course!

Autoglym products are the best out of the mass produced range such as Meguiars etc. HD Wax is a good product but there are better. I'd also question its durability as the Autoglym products I've used haven't done so well in that department.

If you do decide to use HD Wax it do yourself a favour and get decent applicators - the ones supplied are rubbish.

Im off to get some wax today to get the MINI shined up for MINI United! Gonna get some Zymol i think. With some Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. Always been a fan of Autoglym, been using it for over a year and found it very good.
