2002 MC base model engine head work

Hello ... to all my first post I am a good mechanically inclined general mechanic and have worked on mercedes benz and porsche on several problems and never a MINI how hard is it to replace a warped head on a mini -warped head and resurfacing job?

houdy,
mate to do a head on a cooper is very very easy... If you have some mechanical knowladge it can be off within the hour. Just turn the motor to TDC (or close enough to it) mark the cam chain to sprocate and harmonic balncer to the cover. This is how iv done it for many years, even though I work in a dealership with all the special tools I dont use them because they say you have to remove all the covers from the cam chain and look for gold coloured links ect ect.....
The head wll probly be warped so a machine shop will be alto to straighten it/ recondition it, the block wont be bent being cast iron but make sure with a straight edge and feeler gauges but noraly just a rub over with a stone will do it lovley. Leave the headders in the car just unblot them form the head but take the inlet main fold with it alot easier.
