Inspection 2

What does this involve? Just wondering if it is worth udgrading to the TLC XL??? the upgrade is £300 and the Inspection on its own is £320 so it is cheaper but i am sure it would be a lot less in a "real" garage and what is actually involved in the inspection??

Inspection II service:

Carry out all items on oil service:
Renew engine oil and filter
Renew pollen filter.

Carry out all items on Inspection I:
Check - steering and suspension components, exhaust system and mountings, seat belts, headlight alignment, windscreen washer operation, engine management system and for fluid leaks.

Plus:
Renew auxiliary drivebelt
Renew spark plugs
Renew air filter
Check driveshaft gaiters.

Inspection II from a independant specialist is going to be in the region of about £210 ish.... oil service ~£80, brake fluid service ~ £40... these are just as a guide....

I got TLC XL in the end but that was mainly just for dealer stamps, my inspection II is next week...

It depends on mileage if you purchase TLC XL. As you may know it 3 yrs or 30k. If you don't do the mileage then its not worth buying. I don't so it would end up being a waste cause the car service indicator would never reach the required target to qualify.

Still get it done at MINI dealer but as required, cheaper option if low mileage user

I now see you've bought the TLC XL. However advice still stands for others.

That can't be good advice!

If the XL pack (including inspection 2) is £300, and the inspection 2 is £320, you may as well go for the XL pack as you're going to save at least £20! 8 years or 80k so you'll loose one service out of the standard TLC, but get the next oil service and inspection 2 done under the XL pack so you get 2 services!
