You get your first brake fluid change (2 years) done, but have to pay for the second (e.g. you have to pay for brake fluid change 2 and coolant 1). You've not been over charged.

However, the service parts are included, apart from things such as brakes which wear.

Hi,
This is the pre 2006 tlc. and includes the first inspection, and as in the manual this includes a brake fluid change if due. this is foc. But the cost of the sealant bottle that has to be replaced every 2 years is chargeable.

As the car is circa 5years old, would the brake fluid change be chargable, the one that is included is at two years.

I dont need to make my car go faster, I just need to learn to drive it faster.

check the small print I think there is a cost for the parts, I think the labour is the it that you paid for up front.

well it sounds to me that you should revisit your dealer and find out the reason why you have been charged, as on what you are telling me you have been overcharged. No reason not to ask the question!

An Inspection Service includes checking brake fluid and coolant levels and adding more if necessary, but does not include a complete replacement. When done in conjunction with an Inspection Service, a brake fluid or coolant change would incur separate charges.

In this case, unless the previous owner never had the brake fluid changed it would be chargeable. I don't see anything listed in the TLC coverage regarding coolant changes, so I assume they are not covered.

You are partly right. The brake fluid is only changed if it is due to be done in accodence with the service history. So if it is not due, they do nothing. Therefore they save the cost. but if its due for a change they do it. The only thing they say thats chargable is the sealant bottle.

On an 04 plate MINI it will be due for its second brake fluid change which is not covered under the TLC package.

Check that you have only been charged for parts and labour of the brake fluid change as all the other parts of the inspection 1 should be included with your TLC package. (not including coolet as MINIAC said)

I have an 04 plate MINI which just had its oil service and 2nd brake fluid change which we paid for. The brake fluid change at my MINI dealer was around £80-£85 including liquids and labour.

Were you charged much more than this?

I can see where they might not charge labor for bleeding the brakes. When you say the sealant bottle is chargeable, I assume you mean the cost of the brake fluid is chargeable.

No, Just the bottle
your correct about the second brake fluid service not being in the tlc, But a brake fluid change is included in inspection 1 if required. So the second brake fluid service will take place after Inspection 1.
