Cleaning your MINI cheaply

After reading a few posts on various websites, it seems people aim for top end products thinking they can gain the best results with them.

So I thought, what can I do for a reasonably cheap clean. All products Ive bought have been 3 for 2 deals in Halfords and in my opinion, has come out better than others.

Right, starting off with what Ive got:

2 buckets

Megs Gold class shampoo
Nano extreme wax for alloys
Selection of applicator pads
Turtle Microfibre mit
Rainx (rain repelent for windscreen RainX offer )
Simoniz Back to Black tyre darkener
Megs Paint Cleaner (step 1)
Megs polish (step 2)
Megs Wax (step 3)
Turtle alloy cleaner accompanied with a brush
Terry cloth
Megs drying towel
Megs clay and quick detailer pack
Turtle glass cleaner
Standard rubber
Standard hose and tap water
Turtle back to black bumper gel (can be used on trim inside)
And Evian 1L water... Hydration required

As you can see, the car was filthy and as mentioned on another thread you can remove dried off wax off bumpers using a pencil rubber.

Stage 1: Hose car down. Simple.

Stage 2: Wash car with 2 bucket method (both buckets full of hot water) with microfibre mit

Stage 3: Dry with the drying towel and a chamoix

Stage 4: Clay! Megs clay ripped off the dirt embedded deep so it came out delicious

Stage 5: Megs paint cleaner

Stage 6: Megs polish - allowed to haze for a bit (moved onto the next panel in the mean time) and buffed off with a separate applicator pad. I used the bucket to sit on to save my back.

Stage 7: Megs wax - same as 6

Stage 8: Hydrate

Stage 9: Glass cleaner with a paper towel and application of Rainx on the windscreen

Stage 10: Take the rubber to the bumpers and then gel them

Stage 11: Alloy cleaner with brush and then seal with a wax

Stage 12: Tyre blackener

Stage 13: DONE!

And below are the results. YEY!
