Heavy clutch

Hi everyone!

I am new to MINI 2 so here it goes.

My wife and I have recently bought a spanking '58 plate cooper. We absolutely love it to bits apart from my wife is finding the clutch really heavy and it's hurting her knee. Is there any way it can be made lighter?
