Help! OneD alternator tensioner (London)

Hi all, I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

My OneD (2003) has developed a squeak on the alternator on startup that disappears after about 5 minutes / once it's warmed up. I've tried to tighten the alternator myself on its rocker, but it's at the tightest it'll go. I've tried all the talcum powder tricks etc to get it to stop but to no avail.

I've had the AA look at it, and they say that it's a tensioner problem and one of the pulleys is likely to need replacing.

I have a couple of questions:
- does anyone know if this is a common fault that I can instruct a garage on?
- does anyone know of a decent / well priced mechanic (i.e NOT BMW) that I could take it to in London?

Just to update on this - now fixed. It WAS the alternator pre tensioner (bearing) and got it sorted for 190 at Crago's in Kent. All round good service, seemed v.knowledgable. Think I might need to replace the belt aswell as it wasn't a genuine one!
