DIY Mini ONE 2007 EML CEL FAIL!!!!

OK, Im new here so please don't try to critisize if ive made any mistakes, ive used this forum in the past and found peoples comments really helful, so thought id share my problem...
I bought my MINI one 1.4 '57 plate from BMW Halliwell Jones in 2009, I have now had the car for almost 2 years. Within 6 months of buying it, for £11,200, the check engine light came on in yellow (emissions) I took it straight in, they fixed it up on my 12 months warranty of goodwill for buying from them, everything was good.. The car started to sound a little louder.. ANYWAY, 2 days before my warranty expired, on came the EML - again... I rang mini but i couldnt take it in til the following week, the warranty had then expired, they refused to deal under goodwill, after over 50 phone calls/emails/letters to the chief exec at halliwells, they finally agreed to fix, apparently it was AGAIN my 02 sensor..They said they changed it and there was no underlying problem as to why it had broke again... OK so now the cars out of warranty and no chance of getting anything for free. My mini is roaring when driving, I mean, it sounds like some sort of sports car. I took it to my mechanic, the wiring to the 02 sensor was messed up and he fixed that up. No EML light.. 4 weeks later, its back on... Took it back to him, he replaced the part... No EML light... AGAIN 2 months on, the EML light came back just before the MOT. I took it in to the garage, they kept it in for 2 weeks as it also failed its MOT on emissions, they replaced the 02 sensor (using MINI Parts from the MINI dealer which was ordered I have receipts) They also changed another sensor near the CAT. Then the emissions were still high. They took off the CAT only to find it was HOLLOW, completely utterly hollow. Im no a mechanic, but surely there is a filter system in there like a honeycomb?? Anyway, they purchased a new one from MINI and replaced this. NO EML light, costed a small fortune... WITHINT 24 HOURS.. EML is back on... There is no logical reason for this to be on, the car has almost a full new exhaust system and is driving like a dream!! Has anyone else experiences this?? I am at a loose end with what to do now, its back in the garage for a RESET today, but after 2 years of owning the car, I feel completely ripped off, I paid top whack for a GOOD car from MINI, my dream car and paid the extra to ensure I wasnt getting a bum deal. I honestly don't know what to do, I can't sell with this fault, and I wouldnt put this burden of a car on anyone... So where do I go from here...

Sorry its really long... I had to tell the full story of my ownership for everyone to fully understand the extent I have been to on this. And BMW Mini don't care and don't want to know, despite the CAT being faulty since the car was made! - 07 minis were made with a bad batch, they are not accepting this, despite my mechanic ringing and they confirmed this! Absolutely shocking.... Quick enough to take the money.

Misfires are the main killer of the Cat, your downstream oxy sensor should of picked up the Cat had disintergrated, which O2 sensor was you having trouble with, also what is the fault code stored in the memory

The first problems was with the lambda sensor, these was replaced by bmw, this time the car did misfire so the next day I took it in, which confirmed both sensors and the Cat were dead and my emissions were incredibly over what they should be, when the diagnostic check was carried on the on computer the lambda only even showed on all tests until recently when the cat shown its ugly face.
I have had the car back in the garage today where the computer was reset, light switched off, emissions fine... I've took it from the garage and 10 miles later my EML light is back on, I've no option but to go back tomorrow. I will find out the fault code and report back on here once I know more, I'm also trying to sell the car so this is completely ruining any chance at the moment. The car feels brand new driving like a dream not misfiring or anything, mechanics going back to mini to get another new lambda tomorrow too... Hoping for some joy but it seems bleaque
