Resetting MOT counter 2007 MCS

Hi guys

Can anyone help me find the info I'm looking for?
I've searched the forums but can't find specifically what I need...

My MOT is due soon and I want to take my car to a non-MINI garage to have it done. My question is how do I reset the service indicator SPECIFICALLY for the MOT (statutory inspection I think the car's display calls it) and not the actual service times?

I assume that Joe Bloggs garage won't do this for me when they do the MOT.

My car is a 2007 MCS with factory nav system.

Thanks for any help.

Get MOT done and then go to BMW dealer just to reset the indicator. They did it for free for me.

Mini Cooper S (2007), 158 kW and 312 NM.

I have just had my 2007 Mini MOT's by Kwik Fit (£29.95) but they have not reset the MOT indicator. Has anyone else had their MOT indicator reset for free by the main dealer or was Nick007 just lucky?

Found instructions on resetting it on this site, which I have followed, and reset the MOT indicator myself, so no need to drive 25 miles to my nearest BMW dealership.

Sorry Mini Me, I don't know how to insert links to other posts, but if you search for "R56 Service / Brake lights etc Reset Proceedure" then read that thread down to a post by Miniac, there is a list of instructions. Remember to close the door when you do it, and don't be freaked out by all the lights that come on and flash before you get to the bit where you can change the date. Good luck.

Resetting MOT light

Hi

This is easy to do. Just go into the settings and you will come across it. I had to do it in January this year. We had our MOT done by Cooper, Sevenoaks. They forgot to reset the indicator. I call them and they said that I couls either take it back or they would talk me through it. I was not in the car at the time I called, so I did it myself when I got home from work. You can change the date of when the indicator light is displayed.
