White Bonet Stripes Detailing

Hi Everyone,

Anybody know of a good product which will remove the weird marks from the White bonet stripes and make them look new again? Planning a full spring dodo juice detail and the stripes are going to let me down

Been a few years since I had my R56 with bonnet stripes, but I remember a gentle polish getting them looking as good as new. Washing along didn't do it, they still looked a little grey. One caveat - I didn't have that particular Mini long, so I don't know whether it would have damaged the finish in the long term or not.

The first thing you can try is a stronger soap on just the stripes. Remember car soap is pretty weak. Then good vinyl cleaner. Not armor all, an actual vinyl cleaner. If no success try a harsher chemical to spot clean. Obviously, for the harsher chemicals test on a small area first to ensure no discoloring. Also, you can always try to clay them?

I've got some autosmart tardis on the way to spot treat some baked on brake dust so might try that when it turns up and get a vinyl cleaner. If not will wait till the spring and try clay during the spring detail. Might just take them off and get some viper stripes !
