Key Fob trunk unlock function

Key fob has lock and unlock for the doors, plus trunk unlock.
However when I press the trunk unlock nothing happens!

Could someone please tell me how this function should work.

I'd look in the user booklet but it seems to have gone missing.

Hold down the button for a second, rather than a quick press, and the boot latch will pop open. I noticed on mine at the weekend if u don't go and lift open the boot after unlocking it with the fob, within about 20s it relocks itself

One thing I don't understand yet is how to open the boot when the key is in the ignition and engine running Can anyone advise on that as I'm sure it would help the OP too?

The fob's boot button has never worked for me either (tried pressing, holding, double-clicking, dancing a jig, etc.). I assumed it was a configuration on the car; there's an option for the fob to only unlock the driver's door, so a button to explicitly unlock the boot would be useful in that mode. But since I've never worked out the morse code for changing the locking sequence I've never been able to test my theory.

As far as opening the boot with the engine running, if the car's locked itself (travelled over 10 mph) then use the dash toggle switch to unlock the car and open it as normal (which in Lapou's and my case is using the boot handle ).

Thanks for the replies guys.

I've found the hatch button does nothing if all doors locked.
With car doors unlocked, pressing the hatch button will 'pop' open the hatch, so it simply needs lifting to swing open i.e no need to press the hidden button above the number plate.

I'd have preferred if the button 'popped' the hatch regardless if the whole car was locked or unlocked making it easier to swing hatch open if ones hands are full of shopping bags.

I haven't got mine to work either but then again it's a cabrio so I suppose it doesn't make to open the boot remotely when it "opens down" rather than "pops up" like a hatchback
