Supercharger Oil

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has ever bothered to replace the oil in their SC? If so has it made any difference to the running and how difficult was it to carry out.

it is very difficult to carry out, there are 2 resovoirs, one side is fairly easy to carry out, the otherside i much harder, it requires the water pump to be removed.
There will be no performance improvements it is just maintance, this should only be done on a high millage charger or one which is already showing problems

Did mine yesterday. It's a ball ache but as I was replacing the radiator anyway I decided to do a mega service. It also gets a bit expensive when you replace all the gaskets and o-rings etc.

Just piece of mind for me, the oil was quite clean and filled to the correct level - our mini is 2003 with 70k. I don't expect it to make any difference - I'll let you know once I get it running again!

Ours was done in August at 75k miles. Rear one behind the water pump was black and nasty and the front one didnt have anything in it !!!! Hopefully we have overted failure but dont know any long term issues yet. Charger does sound better with a bit more whine, but that maybe because we changed a noisy tensioner pulley and idler and belt at the same time and its more audible over squeaky bearings.
