Peculiar clutch clicking noise when pressing

Hi all,

I have a 2009 Mini Cooper non-s, with some 35k miles on it.
I can hear a strange noise while I am pressing the clutch. its like a couple of clicks while its being pressed. About 2 or 3 clicks. When its all the way down there is no sound.
I can only hear it in standstill and when the engine is off. Its probably there when i'm driving or when the engine is on, but I cant hear it.
The car has start-stop, could it be something connected with that? The plugs firing to start the car again?
The clutch works perfectly, no problems at all. I was just wondering whether I should be worried, or whether this is a sign of anything, so that I can act in advance?
Thanks!

some details I missed in the message above.
My car is LHD, the noise seems to be comming from somewhere in front of the clutch, the drivers (left side) of the car, as if on the left side of the engine bay.
I thought it might be somewhere from the fuse box, or some relays that might be somewhere around there?
The clicking sound is not deep or too loud, its similar to the sound of a mouse click.... pretty strange.

It is also outside temperature related. If its warmish i cant hear it at all. if its lsightly cold I can hear it a bit. If its really cold I can hear it easily. When its really cold it sounds like slight crackling.
