i seem to hae a similar issue with my 2003 cooper s , its a squeeking noise and as soon as i touh the pedal it goes . i am thinking this is one one of the pads touching on the disc slightly or a dust guard ??

I had a similar issue and it was a seized caliper and needed replacing. See if the effected brake disc seems a lot hitter than its opposit disc.
