United-Kingdom Oil consumption Mini Cooper s N18 engine

Hi
I have a Mini Cooper S N18 engine, purchased with 9000 miles
on the clock. I have read that the minis consume quite a bit of
engine oil is this true for all Mini Cooper S ?
I have not done a lot of miles in my car yet a lot of short trips at
moment, the car is always stopped with a hot engine never started
and stopped with a cool engine.
I have done 1200 miles in my car and it has not used any oil at all,
at least what shows on the dip stick. It's not showing full because of
petrol dilution either as the last time I checked the oil it was fully up to
temperature after a run, I let it tick over in garage till the cooling fan ran
then I stopped it, left it for 6 min and then checked it multiple times
and it was still full to max mark.
Thanks Peter

There will always be variations within a range of engines of course. The most common oil consumption with BMW engines is fairly high when brand new while the parts wear in. After this oil consumption drops to zero/almost zero. So congratulations by buying a Mini with 9K miles on the clock you have gone beyond that early period. Enjoy your driving.
