Battery Charging on R56

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to connect the Ctek battery charger to the mini Battery easily. I don't really fancy having to keep opening up the black cover on the battery everytime i want to charge. I only use the R56 once in a blue moon as its a bit of a summer car kept for having fun days out in.

Have you bought the Ctek yet? If not buy an optimate 4 from Amazon. It has a short lead that you can connect to the battery using an eye connector on each terminal, so it is connected all the time. On the other end is a connector that plugs into the lead from the Optimate charger, so all you have to do is unplug it from the short lead when you want to go for a drive. There is a little rubber cover to go over the end of the plug when not in use.

You have to remember to unplug it though!!!! I have forgotten a few times and dragged it out of the garage still connected. But it has just unplugged itself without doing any damage.

My 7 year old JCW still has the original battery, it is a summer car and has been on an Optimate all its life.

The Optimate 4 does all sorts of battery checks, like stopping charging for 30 mins to make sure the battery is holding its charge ok.

It's about £50.00 But a lot cheaper than replacing the battery.

Haven't bought it yet. I will definitely take a look at that product. Same price as Ctek charger. Ctek do the snap in system too but they charge another £8 for it so the Optimate is cheaper in long run.

I bought it from Amazon for £52.95 with free delivery, prompt delivery as well. Very reliable and apparently very cheaper to run, as far as the electric bills are concerned.

My original Optimate that I use on another car has been dragged down the road by accident but still works fine!

I got a CTek and bought the extra connector (snap-in thing that lets you permanently fix one end to battery and simply plug in when needed) and then found it came with one - worth double checking before you buy.
