Service Indicator minus figure after service? - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi,
Just bought a 05 plate Mini Cooper. The garage that I bought the car from agreed to fully service the car but I've noticed that the service indicator is on minus figures and flashes when initially starting the car. When a Mini is serviced does the garage have to manually reset the service indicator (i.e. the car could have been serviced and the reset was missed) or is it reset automatically? Hopefully this is a genuine oversight by the garage but I am a little worried

Any advice would be appreciated.

It can be serviced without that being reset mate. Think it needs to be serviced at BMW to get that reset?!

Sounds like the garage forgot to reset the Service Interval Counter.

Thanks for the responses Caveman and _Kyle_. TBH the dealer who sold me the car has a good reputation in the area and has been going for years so it looks like it's a genuine mistake on behalf of the garage. Good to have the information to reinforce that though
