What a farce today as my friend and I went about putting my new skid plate on. It's still off.

Please enlighten me.

I want to lift the front end.

Jacking up one side of the car results in the rear lifting, not the opposite side.

Whatever. Jacking one side leaves no room to mount a jackstand. Having never used this new set of jackstands i bought some years ago, they elluded my simplest strategy. Where oh where can I jack so that i can still have a place to place the stand?

How can the rule of all ruledsbe "never to work under the car unless fully supported on jackstands", if most vehicles leave mountings for but one jack contact per mount? I know my Saab had a nifty center front lift point....

Has MINI any other than the four?

Rhino Ramps work well and are only about $30. I've done 3 skid plates with them so far..

Lift the front w the floor jack under the front in the middle where the four bolts to the skid plate go.
And place two floor jacks under the frame rails a little behind the front wheels. There are pics in the MOss plate installation thread.
I put my plate on in 20+ min w Rhino Ramps no sweat.

The four rearward bolts, yes? If so, all set.

Already enlisted a lift. But it could fall through..,

CapeCodMini do you have the jack? Which one? Do you have it with the cross beam adapter? thanks
1 more for Rhino ramps, thats how I was able to install my skid plate.

I do have the Rhino Ramps though, and really like them.

Cape Cod Mini if you get one (well any jack for that matter) let me know, I'll probably contact them tommorow. That cross beam adapter really appeals to me. I'll let you know what they tell me.
