Radio has no power/speedometer starts at 40

I went and got an oil change and an inspection sticker. When my mini was ready, the radio had no power (not even clock displayed) and speedometer started at 40 mph.

Of course the guy at Jiffy Lube said they did nothing.

All fuses work and computer diagnostic says 0 mph when car is started. So my question is what could have been done to cause this?

Could it be a battery issue?

Old and low power on batteries can cause all sorts of gremlins to occur with the MINI systems, so could well be, could you borrow a good substitute before buying a new one? or have the old one tested at the battery sales place before buying a new one?
Is the alternator charging properly, the Jiffy folk havent accidentally shorted it out have they?

Another thing garages tend to do is leave the ignition on and go off for a teabreak forget all about it and when they come back the battery has drained, which might be why your radio isnt working its lost its code?
