R52 convertible small roof closure issues

Hi,

I have a 54 plate R52 convertible mini one, opening the roof works perfect and so does the closing in every wasy except the passenger rear window, it goes half way up as the hood seems to be about 2mm too far to the right for the rear window to slot into the channel.

Is this something I can adjust and how?

Many Thanks for any help I am in Colchester Essex if anyone is local that could assist?

If the quarter window fits the driver's side OK and it's only the passenger side that's a problem, it suggest to me the hood frame has been bent on that side - which also suggests that, with some force, it should be able to be bent back where it should be. But that must be a lot of force and you would have to be careful not to break any plastic trim while bending it.

I bet a Mini dealer would say the cure was a whole new hood - 2,000-3,000 fitted......

I think that is caused by the Hydraulic failure. Its an electrical problem. So better for your Mini to serviced it from a auto shop.It knows better for this failure.I,m also a mechanic by profession but i can,t help you in this way.Firstly i check the car personally and understand its problem.
