Knocking from rear wheel

Hi guys i have a rythmic knocking /ticking noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel seems to stop when the brakes are applied sounds like the pads are rattling round if that makes sense had a quick look at the wheel the bearing seems ok the cars a 51 reg cooper hope someone can help also the front wishbones seem noisy so im replacing both sides and the bushes is this do able at home does the subframe have to come conpletley off sorry for all the questions thanks in advance keith

Hi ya

Rear knocking sounds like the rear anti roll bar bushes.
Easy job just get both back wheels of the floor to unload the anti roll bar two bolts each side on the clamp pull out the bushes fit new refit clamp job done, it takes longer to get the wheel on and off :-)

The front wish bone bushes can be done with out taking the sub frame out. I just unbolted it and dropped it down at the back and pulled them out it's tight but it's ok,
I bought the complete bracket and bush it was about 10 more but you will not need a tool to push the bush out and new back in.

If you are going to replace just the bush get a set of these from rich at orranje
Whiteline - Front wishbone rear bush - Orranje - New MINI Performance & Styling Products

While your there replace the anti roll bar bushes to.
